Beautiful North Carolina (day 1)

Friday was a beautiful day, 78 and sunny.  of course when we see something we don't know, we have to stop and investigate..

we went to the Sandhills Horticultural Gardens in Pinhurst, NC.

I think these wings fit me perfectly!

There are 14 gardens that are designed and maintained by the students at the Community College. Eric's favorite is the Conifer Garden. the garden has many varieties of conifers including a Dragon Eye Pine

there was a lot of budding and some flowers.  bet it will be beautiful next month.

We are staying in Sanford NC as it is between Pittsboro (north) and Vass (south),  where we will be visiting friends and family on Sat.

We went with Glenda and John from Sanford, NC for dinner at a great Mexican place.  I had my usual Carnitas and they were the best...  slow roasted pork in mexican (not spicy) seasonings.  If I see carnitas on a menu (and that is not always the case) I have to get it. This place is in the top 3 for Carnita's!  Its a good thing we are here only two days or I would have to repeat!
